How YOur Program Works

Once you have signed up to the International Diploma in Gynaecological Endoscopy, you will have access to 58 online sessions over the year. These happen every Friday at 1830 GMT, that is 2030 EET.

Our current cohort starts the program on the 3rd of February, 2023.

The content of the program is rich and comprehensive and includes:

  • 58 online sessions (every Friday, once a week)

  • 3 of these will be condensed (summary) sessions

    • 1 of the 58 online sessions in March​

    • 1 of the 58 online sessions in August

    • 1 of the 58 online sessions in December

  • 16 laparoscopic Skills Sets will be taught and later evaluated​

    • 1 skill will be taught every 2 weeks​ (except in March, August and December)

  • 10 live operating theatre sessions from Birmingham Women's Hospital​

    • Once a month, every month from March, on a Monday​

  • 2 in-person training workshops​

    • 1 Mid-course Training Workshop without assessment for 3 days in July 2023​

    • 1 End of course Training Workshop with assessment for 3 days in February 2024

  • 8 Live Animal Workshops ​

    • 2 Live Animal Workshops with the Mid-course Training Workshop in July 2023​

    • 2 Live Animal Workshops with the End of course Training Workshop in February 2024

    • 2 stand alone Live Animal Workshops in May 2023

    • 2 stand alone Live Animal Workshops in October 2023

your aims

Once you have signed up to the International Diploma in Gynaecological Endoscopy you will be required to complete the following objectives to attain your certificate:

  1. There is an MCQ related to each of the 58 online sessions.

    • There are 58 online sessions (every Friday, once a week)​

    • You will have 58 sets of MCQs 

    • You will be provided a link after each online session

    • You have to complete all the MCQs satisfactorily 

  2. There are 58 online sessions (every Friday, once a week)

    • You have to attend 60% of them live

  3. 16 laparoscopic Skills Sets will be taught and later evaluated​

    • 1 skill will be taught every 2 weeks​ (except in March, August and December)

    • You have to be signed competent in all 16 skills (by video submission)

    • This means you will have to submit 16 videos of you completing the skill

  4. 10 live operating theatre sessions from Birmingham Women's Hospital​

    • Once a month, every month from March, on a Monday​

    • You will have to attend 60% of them live

    • You will also have to submit 5 reflective case discussions in your folder ​

  5. 8 Live Animal Workshops ​

    • You will have to attend at least 4 out of the 8

  6. End of course Training Workshop with assessment for 3 days in February 2024

    • It is mandatory for all to attend, all will be assessed and all will have to sit the final examination on the final assessment day in February 2024.

  7. Monthly meetings with the assigned mentor

    • You require 2 signed progress reviews by your mentor through the year

The requirements above in bold are necessary for you to complete the program. Your mentor and all the Faculty members will be aware of the changing requirements as the course progresses and will help you achieve them. Non attendance beyond the minimum requirements is not acceptable.
